Food Thrift Trip: Kainan Au Gusto

Kainan Au Gusto reminds me of my childhood days staying at my grandparent's house in Bolinao, Pangasinan. The ambiance of this place is rare and different compared to other diners I've visited - the surrounding is full of interesting antique pieces but they are branded as a Class A Carinderia. The area is naturally ventilated (although they have a few pieces of electric fans that you can use if you feel a little hot). Add the set of the classic Filipino music playing in the background, mostly contemporary and folk songs.

I first visited this place a few years ago, I actually thought it's an old antique shop. The moment you set foot on their hallway, you will see different kinds of vintage items for sale. There are some porcelain bowls, drawers, lamps, even old and rare paintings and capiz windows hanging on their wall. Who would have thought that these century -old pieces are just accessories to give way to their food specials?

Kainan Au Gusto serves their food the "turo-turo" way (point as you order says Jane Chua)  in a classy style. You will have the chance to take a sneak peak of the food they serve. Varieties of Filipino dishes are readily available. And the price? Turo-turo price and affordable too!

Spareribs Tausi | Kainan Au Gusto also serve snacks.

Pica-pica (Finger Foods)

Good food is great with Del Monte Pineapple Juice!

My all time favorite Pork Adobo
I regularly eat here, as this place is just a few steps away from my apartment. Waiters and cashiers know me already. They say that Kainan Au Gusto was built by the Dr. Boy Vazquez, owner and founder the famous Cafe Juanita, to serve and cater food to the construction workers working nearby for low prices.

Kainan Au Gusto is just one of the few hole-in-the-walls here in Kapitolyo Pasig. Definitely a must go food place if you are looking for real value for your money.

Off - note: They have a clean comfort room by the way. ;p

A little bit of Milk and a little bit of Sun

So you wanna go all day breakfast huh?

I just found a new haven that serves tasty all-day breakfast and comfort food in our area. Milky and Sunny is one of the newest restaurants in Kapitolyo Pasig, they just had their store opened last quarter of 2011. It is located at 9 Briggy Hall East Capitol Drive. Believe it or not though the place may seem a little small for big groups, a lot of celebrities have been visiting this place just to taste their UBERLY delicious breakfast treats (e.g. Magalona family, Iza Calsado, Mariel Rodriguez, and more!). Visit their place and enjoy their handcrafted meals and you decide. :)

Food Review - Cab Cafe

I've been quite busy for a couple of weeks now, work is so much fun I haven't had the time to visit my food blog and all of my online sites (I'm a certified online bug). Recruitment is super fun less the stress but my office mates (especially the HR team) made it a whole lot easier for me to survive Human Resources.

Good thing my super bff Kaye  visited me last Saturday (June 11, 2011), we were able to visit one of the most fabulous Cafe's in Kapitolyo: Cab Cafe.

Cab Cafe - Kapitolyo, Pasig City
They serve good tasting Coffee, Cake, Pastries, Pizza, and Pasta.

Better than Starbucks' Caramel Frappe, Cab Cafe's Tiramisu Frappos is really a must order beverage if you are a big time frappucino fan. Their Mocha Frappos is also good but I like Tiramisu better. tongue

I don't have an actual photo of their pastry selection but rest assured that it also tastes good. Try ordering the strawberry muffin and you'll feel like you're already in heaven!

This is where they store their muffins. :)

Pasta selection? Uhm, so-so.

And of course, my UBER favorite Pizza Flavor from Cab Cafe - Onion's and Olives!

                Good
Cab Cafe's Onion and Olives Pizza

Mouth watering and heart melting thin crust Pizza. And this can't be eaten without this:

Tabasco Hot Pepper Sauce

Haha! So much of the teasing, visit this place and you'll see what I mean.

                Good
              Happy eating! :)

Cab Cafe is located at #18 East Capitol Drive, Brgy. Kapitolyo Pasig City. (02) 4775382
Recommended Dish(es):Onion and Olives Pizza, Tiramisu Frappos, Strawberry Muffin, Sausage Platter

Date of Visit:2011-6-11
Spending: Approximately PHP  90 - 300 (Night Snack)

Good Friday, Good Burger :)

Good Friday. Fasting really doesn't work for me. My metabolism rate is so high that even if I eat 5 cups of rice in one meal, I will be starving and will be hungry AGAIN in a few steps, say 15 steps up a staircase.

Anyway, back to my "BURGERIFIC" review. Since it's holy week and I honor Papa Jesus' sacrifice to all sinners of the universe (yes, I am Catholic AND will die Catholic), I practice NO CHICKEN, PORK and BEEF day every Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

On normal weeks (upon review of my daily habits), I crave for burgers every Friday. I don't why but I guess this has something to do with the Friday Banchetto at Emerald Avenue, Ortigas (thinking). And since today is a Good Friday which is supposed to be a "No chicken, pork and beef" day, I know the perfect place where I could possibly grab a delicious veggie burger. :)

Good Burger's Veggie BLT at it's BEST!

THAR! Delicious Veggie BLT by Good Burger. (mmm) This one is actually at it's BEST, meaning it's a double patty burger, perfect for a really hungry tummy. Good Burger is just a few blocks away from my apartment, I could easily jump there if I want to grab a healthy good tasting burger (they are open until 11pm). Burger buns are "pandesal-like", soft and very tasty. They serve other varieties of burgers (mushroom, chicken, etc) and their fries are good tasting too.

Good Burger is located at: 10 East Capitol Drive, Barangay Kapitolyo Pasig
Contact number: 636-4663 or 636 -GOOD

Hungry for burger now? <3
