It’s not the best hotel in Boracay — but tell you what, this hidden gem can compete with Station 1’s in-house service.
Full disclosure: I might be a little biased. The people who run this place aren’t just random hoteliers — one of them happens to be my mentor in blogging. Which basically means I already know they’ve got taste, hospitality, and that good ol’ island heart down to a science.
Lanterna Hotel and Restaurant sits quietly in Bulabog, Boracay’s more peaceful side. No blaring beach clubs, no frantic foot traffic — just a slow, steady rhythm of sea breeze, tall coconut trees, and a proper garden courtyard where you can actually hear yourself think.
The rooms? Big, clean, and charmingly old-school. The vibe? Like visiting your cool half-Italian, half-Filipino tita who feeds you well and makes sure you’re always comfy.
The in-house restaurant? Dangerous. Homemade Italian dishes that’ll have you rethinking why you ever lined up for fast food in D’Mall.

But it’s really the people that make Lanterna stand out. They take care of you like family — no script, no stiff hotel lines, just warm service and honest recommendations.
So no, this isn’t your five-star beachfront escape. But if you’re the type who loves laid-back spots with soul, quiet mornings, and real connections — you’ll probably get Lanterna the way I do. And who knows… you might just end up extending your stay. (Been there, done that.)
Where To Find This Mini Hotel in Boracay Island
Lanterna Hotel and Restaurant is tucked in a quiet street in Bulabog, just about an 8-minute walk from D’Mall. It’s super accessible from the main road — just head east past the shops and into the calmer side of the island.
From Bulabog Road near 24/7 (yes, the convenience store), walk about 50 metres past Adlaw Residences. Keep an eye out — just after Adlaw, you’ll spot a short alleyway tucked between a mango tree and a white building. Yep, that’s your turn.
Follow the alley all the way to the end, then turn left and walk through the gate into a lush garden. That path leads you straight to Lanterna Mini Hotel — Boracay’s little secret on the quiet side of the island.
You can book them directly on their
