Island Wandering, As Always

Hola from the isla!

I'm thankful that on my free time, I get to explore the island as if I'm a tourist. Walking around and just talking pictures is what I do every weekend. I haven't tried anything exciting yet. Not just yet.

One of my favorite areas here in the island is the Bulabog beach. Hot men and women with sun-kissed skin and 6-packed abs, yes - there are a lot of them here. But other than that, I love watching how the wind plays with every big kite near the shore and how surfers manage to control them with their very strong force. I've seen them fly, double-flip through the air. I'm telling you they are all amazing. This is the sport I might want to try someday if not that I'm afraid of breaking my bones into pieces.

I go here to eat something healthy too. Green salad. There's something about balsamic vinegar that I'm starting to love. By the way, this salad is not expensive. It may seem pricey but it's not. As I've mentioned previously, living in Boracay is more expensive than living in the city.

Fire dancers are everywhere when the clock strikes seven. Another skills that I might want to try someday if not that I'm afraid of burning my hair to dust.

This is the raft Rica and I braved to swim at the Spider House. I, myself, am not a good swimmer - all I can do is paddle like a dog whenever I touch the salty water. So yes, I'm prone to drowning. But we made it, yeah. Like Thor. Lol.

Ohai there Rica! Congrats on your new achievement! By the way, where's Vicky?

There you are! I'm surely gonna miss sharing beds with you. We've only shared homes for a week but it seemed like a year. Pardon me for being jumpy and noisy all the time. I hope I was able to put a smile on your face a bit though, with my corny jokes. I miss you too, already! The island will surely miss you.

And of course, I met a couple of creatures too.

These dogs are the sweetest! I've been trying to fill-up my instagram feeds with them. They are just way too cute!

More of my island life in the next posts. I miss you Manila, but life is better in Boracay. ;p

Missing My Online Life, And So I'm Back!

Hello from B!

It's been a while since I last updated this page. I'm no longer a city girl and getting a stable internet connection has been my problem lately. Thank heavens there are cafes here with free hi-speed internet connection (I just found one today, thanks to my good friend Vicky). Anyway, I'm soo back to blogging guys!

I just recently relocated to the beautiful island of Boracay in Malay, Aklan. I've been staying here for a month now and so far, so good. Life is better here, indeed. The beach, the sand, the sunset every afternoon, and all other things. Geez. Much as I want to share everything in one post, I can't! Every photo I took since I went here has a story to tell so I guess you'll just gonna have to wait for it.

More to come, I swear!

The Making Of An Island Girl

My hopes are high when I decided to finally leave for good and work somewhere else where my skills and competencies will be further utilized (nax, lalim) - I'll be an island girl soon. Mid-December, I started collecting sets of "island girl" inspired outfits and accessories so today I'm sharing one.

When I was at Boracay a few weeks back, I noticed that majority of the locals are living in simplicity - laid back hair less the combing, denim shorts, sunnies and hats, flats and all. And this is the kind of life I wanted - no limitations, no boundaries, fly high as you can.

Quite a good decision to drop by Tiendesitas to score some denim shorts and a comfy cotton top, I was able to get a set for less than Php 500. Plus, big sister bought me this hat for Christmas, hihi. So much for a spoiled baby girl. *winkwink*

I just got back to Quezon City to spend my remaining days in the metro with my family - they've been very supportive with my decision of moving to another town and live a life I've always wanted. And I just recently signed up for Instagram.

Few more turn overs and I'm all set. I can't wait to spend every afternoon watching the sunset and cooking dinner of fresh seafood. I can't wait for my nth independence. I can't wait to take pictures and go places and finally meet strangers and share them my stories. I can't wait to find happiness! I'm sooo ready for you 2013!

Joy with a C soon to be an Island Girl of B ;p

Below AND Above Sea Level (Fifty Shades of Grey Skies)

I personally haven't read this book yet but last weekend, I had some encounters with "Christian Grey". The calming waters suddenly went mad like crazy and skies suddenly turned grey as big sister takes on her very first diving course with the help of friendly people from GearUp Diving. She was holding and reading this book the whole time so I took a shot - this is definitely going into my blog.

USB Under The Sea (Transcend JetFlash T3S Review)

My line of work involves the internet and computers. Similarly, file transfer is always present. We are starting to use a cloud based technology in our company to have majority of our files accessible at any place any time of the day for our own convenience specially if there are work loads that has to be done outside the office place - like a meeting in a dive resort or something.

Truth be told,  technology fail sometimes (specially when you need it the most!). Internet availability on product presentations, power interruption in the middle of the meeting, wifi connection fails, a sudden need to print something, blahblahblah and the list goes on. You have nothing else to do but to switch to another plan - not unless you only have A,B, and C and forgot to fill-out the rest of the letters of the alphabet.

So where exactly am I going at? File transfers, internet, or computers? Haha!  ;)
