StreetCon - Dubai's Street Art Convention at Al Ghurair Centre

People asked if I'm an artist and my answer have always been no. I simply appreciate anything that appeals to color and beauty, I'm a very visual person.


I love art and it's surprising how Dubai transformed into an art hub in a short period of time. I witnessed it myself - I've been going around the city and exploring the art hubs of Al Serkal Avenue in Al Qouz. Not just a growing culinary melting pot but the fastest growing desert has become a destination for art lovers.

StreetCon created a buzz on social media. My networks have been flooded with beautiful and inviting artworks from local and international artists all over the world. And who am I to resist art event?

The Cats Of Dubai

My friends and I paid a visit and this is the first thing I saw - a photo exhibit of cats photographed in Dubai! It made me miss the little monster even more. :(

Colors and Paintings

I love urban art, the high walls of Al Ghurair Centre was painted with abstract images which are all instagram worthy. Big canvas were all over the street, you even see art from where you are standing!

Other Forms of Art

Love letters and doodles became an art at StreetCon. Repainted bicycles, music mash ups, and even the random things you use for sports and outdoor activities have also became an art. Thank heavens StreetCon happened - people were able to interpret the simplest things on a different perspective.

I hope things like this will continue to grow in Dubai. It gives more reason to make people stay and explore the different culture the city have.
