BBC Goodfood ME and Al Ghurair Rotana - Bloggers' Master Class

Al Ghurair Rotana

Just before I hopped on the plane last Wednesday night, got invited to a blogging event from Al Ghurair Rotana where three blogger stars cooked a three course meal for BBC Good Food Middle East Food Club Members.

Dubai's foodie community helped a lot in making the city a culinary melting pot. And in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, the Dubai food bloggers shared their tips and tricks on cooking easy breezy Arabic dishes. Bloggers Yousuf Tuqan of middleeats.tv ,  Farah Sawaf of Cooking with a Manicure and Ritu Chaturvedi of Fuss-free Cooking blog happily shared their healthy recipes with BBC Goodfood Members.

Yousuf shared his own version of Musakhan Rolls, an Arabic starter of chicken with special spices wrapped in a very thin sheet of (bread?) - I didn't catch that one, hahaha!

But it was very yummy and easy to prepare and so it won my taste buds, I voted for it! Thumbs up!

Farah's main course Zataar Crusted Red Snapper over Orange Blossom Potato Puree also won the hearts of many. The dish is healthy and can also be replaced by other meat like chicken.

I love how the potato puree mixed well with the flavor of zataar and red snapper.

And lastly, Ritu (who I already met last year from an event from Barakat Fresh and Easy) prepared Carrot and Pistachio Baklava for dessert. Not that much of a fan of Arabic desserts but this one's heaven!

At the end of the cook off, we all voted for the best recipe and yes, Yousuf won the title. His recipe will be available at Shayan Restaurant for the month of Ramadan.

And of course, Rotana's never ending group selfie. A big thank you to Marjanne and Rimaz for joining me at the table.

Until the next foodscapades!
